SERVICES

PUBLIC SERVICE FIRST

WHY I AM RUNNING

WORKING TOGETHER

In the words of Henry Ford, "Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success."

PROMOTING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT WITHIN THE COMMUNITY

Business Development is important in expanding the city's budget.

CREATING FAMILY RECREATION OPPORTUNITIES

Look for ways to promote usage of our City Park system.

LOWERING THE CRIME RATE

I believe in Community Policing, to help citizen's establish a rapport with those here to protect us.

Keeping the crime rate down is important in maintaining a safe environment for all to live, work, and play.

Re-Elect Councilman Bill Mier

Steady leadership. Strong schools. Safe neighborhoods.

I’m Councilman Bill Mier. Madison Heights has been my home for 32 years. For 24 years I’ve worked at the same company, 21 as Business Applications Manager at Roush Industries, leading diverse teams, solving time-sensitive problems, and keeping complex systems running. That same steady, practical approach is how I serve you on City Council.

Proven community commitment

  • Madison Heights Little League: 30 years on the board (secretary & league commissioner).

  • Lamphere Athletic Booster Club: 24 years as an officer; helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars so our kids can participate and thrive.

  • Lamphere School Board: Twice elected, 10 years total; appointed Oct. 8, 2013 to fill a vacancy and then elected to a six-year term in 2014 (treasurer).

  • Citizen Academy: Class of 2021.

  • City service: Library Advisory Board and Historical Commission (last two years).

  • Family & schools: Resident of the Lamphere community for 30+ years; six children have attended The Lamphere Schools.

  • Coaching & youth: Former youth baseball and basketball coach; former Cub Scout leader.

On Council & what’s next

I won a partial-term seat in 2023 and have worked to bring calm, common-sense leadership. In the next term, I will:

  • Restart the City/School Liaison Committee and build an open, ongoing dialogue with our schools, so City Hall and classrooms pull in the same direction.

  • Continue serving as Council alternate to the Arts Board, Library Board, ITAC, and Parks & Recreation, and keep working closely with Madison Heights Youth Assistance.

  • Apply my business background to budgets and technology, focusing on reliability, transparency, and results.

Experience you can trust

In business and volunteer leadership, I’ve managed people from all walks of life, navigated crises, met tight deadlines, and delivered results. On school and city committees, I’ve tackled budget, curriculum, facilities, technology, and city-school collaboration—including service on Building, City/School Liaison, Curriculum, Finance, and Hall of Fame committees; MASB Technology Coordinator; MASB/Oakland County legislative delegate roles; and Youth Assistance work.

Why I’m running for re-election

I love this city. I believe both school districts and every neighborhood deserve the same respect, attention, and investment. I’ll keep listening, solving problems, and showing up, so Madison Heights stays safe, welcoming, and well-managed for everyone.

I’d be honored to earn your vote for City Council on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
Let’s keep Madison Heights moving forward, together.
